Cleaning Carpet After Mascara Mishaps

I can be a very mucky pup when at home, I am the first to admit that.  .  One of the regular items is unfortunately my mascara wand – and I have a pale honey coloured bedroom carpet.   Dark mascara and honey carpet are not good mixers.  After many such mishaps, I’ve found  drying up any loose mascara and gently dabbing from outside in with an eye make up removing tissue often gets the mess reduced with gentle rubbing.  I then wash the whole area with a brush dipped in a solution of carpet cleaner, diluted to slightly less than directed.  Again, working from the outside in, rather than inside out – this just spreads the mess to a wider patch, with a nail brush or clean washing up brush scoop up just the foam, scrub the offending patch and keep rinsing the brush in clean water before reapplying more foam.   Rinse the area with clear water and blot dry with towels.  Leave to air dry.  If there’s residual marking, try this method again after a few days.  Always rinse with clear water, blot as much as possible and air dry after each attempt.
